U.S. strikes a pork export deal with Argentina and a rice agreement with Colombia

On the heels of Vice President Mike Pence's visit to South America, the U.S. today announced new agricultural market access deals allowing for the export of pork to Argentina and expanded opportunities to ship rice to Colombia. The Colombia rice agreement removes phytosanitary restrictions relating to fumigation and processing set in 2012 and allows U.S. rice to enter Colombia through more than one port, according to the Agriculture Department and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
