U.S., Canadian, Swedish candidates remain after first cuts in OECD race
Two candidates from the Czech Republic and Poland this week dropped out of the race to become the next secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, leaving eight more in the running, including those from the U.S., Canada, Sweden and Australia. The OECD on Wednesday released a report after a first round of consultations with OECD members. “Following these consultations, Vladimir Dlouhý (Czech Republic) and Michal Kurtyka (Poland) have withdrawn from the process,” the report says.
