Trump nominates Ways & Means Democratic aide for ITC spot

President Trump has nominated Democratic House Ways & Means Committee chief trade counsel Jason Kearns to serve as a commissioner on the International Trade Commission -- five months after President Obama made the same nomination. Trump in February withdrew Obama’s nomination of Kearns for the ITC spot. Kearns, if approved by the Senate, would serve until Dec. 16, 2024, according to a White House press release.
