Steel industry groups call for more action on excess capacity issues

A coalition of international steel associations this week is calling on governments to boost efforts to “effectively tackle” ongoing global excess capacity. The groups, from the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia, contend that “strong rules and remedies” aimed at reducing excess capacity should be quickly implemented, according to an Oct. 22 joint statement .
