Montana Democratic Sen. Jon Tester has introduced legislation that would require the Department of Homeland Security to purchase clothing, equipment and other products for law enforcement personnel from American producers. The “Strengthening Security and American Manufacturing Act” would apply to uniforms, footwear, tents, field packs, and other textile-based equipment, according to a release and fact sheet from his office.
