Sen. Brown calls on Trump to address steel excess capacity in 100-day plan with China

Sherrod Brown (D-OH) this week urged the Trump administration to address excess steel production as a part of the 100-day plan called for by Presidents Trump and Xi Jinping in early April, in addition to negotiating updated World Trade Organization obligations and stopping negotiations on a Bilateral Investment Treaty. “Addressing excess overcapacity and state intervention in [China's] economy must be our top trade priorities with the Chinese government,” Brown wrote in a May 16 letter to the president ...
