House unanimously passes bill calling for stronger trade ties with Taiwan

The House on Wednesday unanimously passed legislation calling for increased trade with Taiwan, though with softer language than its Senate companion. The Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative (TAIPEI) Act passed 415-0. The Senate unanimously passed a version of the legislation last October .
