House Homeland Security chair re-introduces bill to incentivize nearshoring
Newly named House Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green (R-TN) last week re-introduced a bill that would direct revenue from tariffs on Chinese goods to incentivize companies to relocate manufacturing facilities from China to Latin America. Last April, Green introduced the “Western Hemisphere Nearshoring Act ” alongside then-Rep. Albio Sires (D-NJ), now retired, and Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA).
