CBTPA passes with unanimous support in the House
The House on Tuesday unanimously voted to approve the Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act, which will renew trade preferences for countries in the region that were set to expire at the end of the month. CBTPA, first implemented in 2000, provides duty and quota-free access for certain products from Barbados, Belize, Curacao, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.
