Stakeholders preparing for port strike on East, Gulf coasts
Stakeholders are bracing for a potential strike at East and Gulf coast ports later this month, as labor contract talks between dockworkers and port employers have stalled due to disagreements about automation and other issues. The International Longshoremen's Association in October suspended a three-day strike after reaching a tentative agreement with the United States Maritime Alliance to extend a labor contract until Jan. 15.
