EU weighing CBAM accounting for non-pricing climate measures
A carbon border adjustment mechanism proposed by the European Commission could be modified to account for emissions reduction schemes beyond just carbon pricing -- potentially like those in the U.S. -- according to a draft recommendation from an EU Parliament committee reviewing the proposal. The European Commission’s plan, announced earlier this year , would establish the world’s first carbon border adjustment measure.
