Mexico: New ambassador to the U.S. to promote bilateral economic development
Mexico’s new ambassador to the U.S., Esteban Moctezuma, arrived in Washington, DC, this week, marking “a new bilateral chapter” for “the promotion of economic development,” the embassy said on Wednesday. Moctezuma’s appointment by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was ratified by the Mexican Senate on Feb. 16. Moctezuma, who served as Mexico’s public education secretary before being appointed ambassador, succeeds Martha Bárcena , who took office in December 2018.
