Commerce announces preliminary CVDs in response to Vietnamese currency moves

The Commerce Department has preliminarily determined that tire producers from Vietnam received unfair subsidies, marking the first time an affirmative countervailing duty determination has been issued in responses to a country’s currency practices. The agency in June launched antidumping and CVD investigations into passenger vehicle and light truck tires from Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
