President Trump’s embattled pick to lead the Export-Import Bank, Scott Garrett, on Tuesday failed to receive the backing of the Senate Banking Committee after two Republican senators – Mike Rounds (SD) and Tim Scott (SC) – joined Democrats on the panel to vote against him. Garrett’s rejection, on a 13-10 vote, was expected after Rounds announced he was not supporting the former New Jersey congressman.
