Democratic senators call on Trump to suspend government procurement provisions in trade deals

Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) are calling on President Trump to honor his “Buy American” campaign pledge by temporarily suspending government procurement chapters in U.S. trade agreements until they are renegotiated, according to a March 10 letter that cites a Government Accountability Office analysis of the effect of trade agreements on domestic government procurement activities.
