LAHAINA, Hawaii -- The Australian sugar industry is pushing for a Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal to grant U.S. market access for as much as 750,000 metric tons of sugar -- a massive jump from current levels -- under a complex price-based system that Australian producers contend would not undermine the U.S. sugar program.
