Waters-backed Export-Import Bank bill passed by the House
The House on Friday approved Financial Services Committee Chair Maxine Waters’ (D-CA) bill to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank for 10 years. Waters’ bill drew fierce opposition from committee Republicans during markup sessions leading up to the vote on Friday. Opponents primarily argued against allowing Chinese state-owned enterprises to use the bank. Nearly every Republican voted against the legislation, which passed 235-184.
