U.S.-China BIT Offer Exchange Expected Before G20 As Engagement Ramps Up

The United States and China are expected to exchange negative list offers for a bilateral investment treaty prior to the Sept. 4-5 G20 leaders summit in Hangzhou, a move that corresponds to a heightened level of seriousness on the part of Beijing to conclude negotiations this year, U.S.-China Business Council president John Frisbie said at an Aug. 17 press lunch.
