Trump: China tariffs will rise if phase-one deal is not completed

The U.S. will increase tariffs on China if the two sides do not close on a phase-one deal, President Trump said on Tuesday. Trump last month postponed a five-percentage-point increase on 25 percent tariffs covering $250 billion worth of Chinese goods. He has also threatened to impose a 15 percent tariff on $160 billion worth of Chinese goods, mainly consumer electronics, on Dec. 15.
