Tai backs ‘tailored’ trade deals after Yellen floats minerals accords with EU, Japan
PHILADELPHIA -- U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai on Thursday backed the idea of new trade deals “tailored to specific challenges,” responding to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s suggestion that Europe and Japan might have to forge new accords with the U.S. to ensure compliance with Inflation Reduction Act rules for electric-vehicle tax credits.
