OECD accepts Colombia as 37th member country; agreement to be signed next week

After five years of consideration, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on Friday agreed to invite Colombia into the group. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria will sign an accession agreement on May 30 during the OECD ministerial in Paris, the OECD said in a May 25 statement .
