New controls to deter China’s chip advancements include extraterritorial measures

Sweeping new export controls aimed at slowing China’s advancement of semiconductor technologies include two foreign direct product rules that expand restrictions on foreign-made goods produced with U.S. technology and are destined for military end users, the Bureau of Industry and Security announced on Monday.
