Mexico to initiate dispute settlement case if U.S. imposes seasonal produce restrictions

Mexico will initiate a dispute settlement case via the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement or World Trade Organization if the U.S. imposes trade restrictions on seasonal goods, a top Mexican official said Wednesday. Fruit and vegetable producers in southeastern states have long complained that less expensive produce from Mexico is harming their industry.
