Industry group: Canada, Mexico mirror contested U.S. approach to USMCA auto rules

As Canada and Mexico challenge the U.S. in a dispute over its interpretation of automotive rules of origin in the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, both trading partners have adopted the U.S.’ more stringent approach to those rules -- limiting the number of U.S.-made vehicles that qualify for duty-free treatment under the deal, an industry group recently told the U.S. International Trade Commission.
