Hatch, Cornyn suggest Finance Committee action on 232 tariffs
Senate Finance Committee leaders on Thursday said the panel might hold a hearing on the Trump administration’s steel and aluminum tariffs as well as language introduced this week by Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) that would amend Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 to require congressional approval for tariffs imposed under it. Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) told Inside U.S. Trade the panel would “probably have to” hold a hearing on both the tariffs and Corker’s proposal...
