EU seeks to join Canada’s WTO case against U.S. steel, aluminum tariffs
The European Union is moving to join Canada’s World Trade Organization challenge to U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs, arguing the bloc has a “substantial trade interest” in the issue. Canada last week requested consultations with the U.S. on the Trump administration’s 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, imposed under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
