EU proposal reserves tariff-cut repeal if U.S. ‘undermines’ deal
The European Commission’s plan to implement the first stage of its recent framework deal with the U.S. includes a mechanism to withdraw trade concessions if the U.S. fails to uphold its end of the bargain, according to legislative proposals made public on Friday. The Commission on Thursday announced it had delivered the plan to the European Parliament in the form of two proposals: One to eliminate tariffs on U.S. industrial goods and grant some U.S. seafood and “non-sensitive agricultural goods”...
