EU, 15 other WTO members secure interim appellate agreement

The European Union, China, Canada, Mexico and a dozen other World Trade Organization members have agreed this week to an interim mechanism for appeals while the Appellate Body remains paralyzed by a U.S. blockade. The agreement sets up an arbitration arrangement under Article 25 of the Dispute Settlement Understanding that the parties -- and any other WTO member interested in signing on -- will use to resolve a dispute.
