Cotton, Kelly want to curb U.S. dependency on China for rare-earth elements
A bipartisan pair of senators on Friday introduced a bill they contend will help end U.S. reliance on China for rare-earth elements by directing the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to investigate China’s “unfair” trade practices and directing the Defense and Interior departments to create strategic reserves of key materials.
