Citing EU deforestation reg, lawmakers urge Greer to halt trade deal implementation
The U.S. must delay implementation of its trade deal with the European Union until the bloc undertakes “substantial reforms” to its deforestation regulation, the Arkansas congressional delegation told U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Thursday. The EU regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR) was crafted to bar goods produced on deforested land or contributing to deforestation from entering the European market.
