Citing China, a North Carolina Democrat calls for relief for tobacco growers

A sharp decline in U.S. tobacco exports to China has left American producers in need of aid payments, according to House Agriculture Committee member Don Davis (D-NC). President Trump and members of his administration have repeatedly said they are crafting an aid package for agricultural producers, particularly soybean farmers, harmed by trade retaliation and facing other economic headwinds.
