Chamber alleges ‘secret’ talks on investment texts in USMCA, Colombia FTA

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is “secretly” renegotiating investment language in the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement and the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce alleged on Thursday, demanding the agency produce any documents, records and decision memos related to the agreements’ investment chapters. The Chamber sent two separate requests under the Freedom of Information Act to USTR. One asks for “decision memos ” on the topic while the other seeks “documents and records , in any format.”...
