Biden administration appeals CIT decision easing solar safeguards

The Justice Department is challenging a recent decision by the Court of International Trade that reversed a Trump administration move to strengthen Section 201 safeguard duties on certain solar products. The CIT in November ruled that Trump had acted beyond his authority in an October 2020 proclamation that tightened a safeguard remedy for foreign crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells and modules.
