Bessent: Trade negotiations could be ‘wrapped up’ by Sept. 1

The Trump administration’s negotiations with trading partners around the world could be wrapped up by Labor Day, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Friday, signaling the president could extend a July 8 deadline following a pause on substantial new tariffs imposed in the name of reciprocity.
