Mexican Official Says Bilateral Discussions With U.S. On Labor Issues Not Linked To TPP Conclusion

Editor's Note: Subsequent to the publication of the article, "Perez, Mexican Counterpart Discuss TPP Labor Issues In Washington Meeting," in the Aug. 14 edition of Inside U.S. Trade, a senior official in Mexico's Labor Secretariat sent a letter to Inside U.S. Trade in which he emphasized that discussions between the two countries on labor issues are part of an institutionalized bilateral dialogue and are in no way conditioned on the conclusion or signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement.
