The Trans-Pacific Partnership's investor-state dispute settlement provisions are atop a list of complaints with the deal advanced by a group of Democratic senators in a letter to the president this week. Sens. Sherrod Brown (OH) Ed Markey (MA), Bob Casey (PA), Jeff Merkley (OR) and Mazie Hirono (HI) signed the Sept. 29 letter -- putting ISDS “first and foremost” among their concerns.
