Ways & Means adviser to serve in new USTR textiles and apparel negotiator role

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has hired a House Ways & Means Committee trade adviser to serve in the new position of chief textiles and apparel negotiator, the agency announced. Katherine White, named on Tuesday to serve in the new role, had been on the committee staff since 2018. She initially will report directly to USTR Katherine Tai, a USTR official said.
