WTO Appellate Body elects Bhatia to serve as chair

Members of the World Trade Organization's Appellate Body have elected India's Ujal Singh Bhatia to serve as the institution's chair beginning on Jan. 1, 2017. On Dec. 31, the chairmanship of Thomas Graham, from the U.S., will expire. Appellate Body chairs serve terms of one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
