USTR wants fact-finding probe of strawberry, bell pepper imports

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative wants the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate two more seasonal crops. In a Nov. 3 letter , USTR Robert Lighthizer asked the commission to “monitor and investigate imports of strawberries and bell peppers.” The request for the fact-finding probe – under Section 332 of the Tariff Act of 1930 – is part of the Trump administration’s plan to deal with the concerns of seasonal and perishable produce growers who have long complained...
