USTR accepts pork industry plea to review Thailand's GSP eligibility

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has accepted a National Pork Producers Council appeal to challenge Thailand’s eligibility for the Generalized System of Preferences. “GSP eligibility criteria are a core element to the success and fairness of the program,” said Deputy USTR Jeffrey Gerrish in a statement issued on Thursday. “Congress directs USTR to ensure that beneficiary countries are permitting equitable and reasonable market access for American goods.
