Trump signs bill crafted to strengthen U.S.-Taiwan trade ties

President Trump on Thursday signed into law a bill designed in part to strengthen U.S.-Taiwan trade ties. The Senate last October unanimously passed a version of the “Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative (TAIPEI) Act” calling for a free trade agreement with Taiwan, but the final version hews to a House bill passed earlier this month.
