Trump doubles Section 232 tariffs for Turkey as lira plunges to record low

Section 232 steel and aluminum tariffs will be doubled for Turkish imports, President Trump announced on Friday, citing a dip in the Turkish currency and poor U.S.-Turkey relations. “I have just authorized a doubling of Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum with respect to Turkey as their currency, the Turkish Lira, slides rapidly downward against our very strong Dollar!
