Senate bill would direct the ITC to study impact of tariffs on Mexico, Canada

Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD) on Wednesday introduced a bill that would direct the U.S. International Trade Commission to conduct an investigation into the impact of the Trump administration’s duties on Mexico and Canada. The administration last week levied 10 percent duties on Canadian energy exports and 25 percent tariffs on all other imports from Canada and Mexico before later exempting goods that qualify for preferential treatment under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
