Perdue names former USTR ag negotiator acting deputy under secretary for trade

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue on Friday named former Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Jason Hafemeister the department's acting deputy under secretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs. Hafemeister was USTR's lead agriculture negotiator for the World Trade Organization's Doha round and has been involved in agriculture and trade policy at USDA and USTR for more than 25 years, according to USDA.
