Netherlands pushes back against EU steel safeguard proposal

Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Sigrid Kaag this week said the Netherlands opposes steel safeguard measures proposed weeks ago by the European Commission, arguing that catch-all restrictions fail to address variances felt in different industry sectors. The Commission proposal is the result of an investigation initiated by the bloc in March 2018.
