Japan reopens market to U.S. lamb, goat meat

More than a decade after prohibiting imports of lamb and goat meat from the United States, Japan has reopened its market to U.S. exporters. The move came after the U.S. Agriculture Department and Japanese authorities established new terms “that are science-based and consistent with international public and animal health standards,” according to USDA.
