House Ways & Means panel to hear from Lighthizer next week

The House Ways & Means Committee will hear from U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer next week during a hearing on the 2019 trade policy agenda. The July 19 hearing will cover “negotiations with China, Japan, the EU, and UK; new NAFTA/USMCA; U.S. participation in the WTO; and other matters,” Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA) said in a statement . Lighthizer will be the only witness. He will testify before the Senate Finance Committee the day before.
