Hatch announces he won't seek re-election

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) today confirmed he will retire from the Senate in 2018. Hatch, who was first elected to the Senate in 1976, cited the recently completed tax reform bill signed by President Trump as a key achievement in making the announcement.
