First-term House Democrats want ISDS, Buy American waivers out of NAFTA

House Democrats serving their first terms in Congress have written to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer laying out their priorities for an updated NAFTA they can support. In a Nov. 17 letter , the Democrats call for the elimination of investor-state dispute settlement and government procurement rules that waive Buy American and Buy Local policies.
