Finance Committee sets confirmation hearing for Commerce trade nominee

The Senate Finance Committee has scheduled an April 10 confirmation hearing for President Trump’s pick to serve as under secretary of Commerce for international trade. The hearing will allow the panel to question William Kimmitt for the Commerce slot as well as Kenneth Kies, nominated to serve as assistant Treasury secretary for tax policy. Kimmitt, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, was counselor to the U.S. Trade Representative from February 2020 to January 2021. Last December, he withdrew his nomination...
